It Stung Like A Violent Wind That Our Memories Depend On A Faulty Camera In Our Minds:

Change is a hard pill to swallow, especially when we least expect or want it.

We go through changes through out our lives: We develop in the womb, we are birthed, we are taught to walk and speak, we are potty trained, we learn to love, we learn to lose, we learn to move on. All consisting of change.

It would take me this entire blog to list all of the changes and things we experience throughout a lifetime. Some are good (at least, I know that it was a good thing my mother bribed me with a Joker action figure in an attempt to have me use the bathroom independently. No one wants to wear a diaper their entire life), others are not so grand (whether it was your first scraped knee or broken heart, neither are award-winning high points of life). Too bad life is not Monopoly, and we don't have "Get Out of Jail FREE" cards.

Our minds are interesting in their camera likeness. As you get older and watch old family videotapes/recordings/films, you think of how different the experience actually was on the other side of the lens. Just like the memories you hold in your mind, your perception changes. Your memories change.

It's hard when memories fade, especially ones we hold dear to us. Others refuse to be erased, even when we wished they'd go away. But regardless of what we remember or what we lose, we are shaped by it. We are shaped by the change we never wanted. The goal is to take the bad with the good - Making the best out of the worst we are given.
